The Bon Odori Festival is the largest Japanese cultural event in Malaysia, and they are making a comeback on the 6th July 2014. The Bon Odori is a Japanese folk dance and the festival that celebrates this dance is held annually in mid-year to welcome ancestral spirits, who are said to make the journey to the realm, around this time each year. This festival is organized by Japan Club Kuala Lumpur, Japanese School of Kuala Lumpur and Embassy of Japan, it will be held at Kompleks Sukan Negara.
This festival is the largest Bon Odori Festival in Malaysia. Many Malaysians participate in this event every year. In 2012, this festival gathered about 40 thousand peoples. Come and join them celebrate this event at Kompleks Sukan Negara. You are advised to use the public transport due to limited number of parking bay and to reduce traffic.
